The number of higher specialist trainees in immunology is too few to organise regional training days as in other specialities. A programme of national training days is therefore organised through the ACP with the following aims:

• to complement the local training undertaken by higher specialist trainees in immunology
• to utilise the expertise in different areas of clinical, laboratory and academic immunology available at different centres across the UK
• to provide an opportunity for higher specialist trainees from different centres to meet, compare training experiences and discuss areas of common interest and concern. This is particularly important in a small speciality.
